Telangana state launches T-wallet(State Portal)
“anytime anywhere digital payment option for everyone” T-Wallet
- T Wallet is the official digital wallet of Telangana State, is launched today by Hon’ble Minister of IT Shri. K. T. Rama Rao.
- Citizens can use T Wallet to make payments for both Government and Private transactions to avail services.
- It is also associated with Government departments such as Mee Seva, GHMC, HMWSSB, TSNPDCL, TSSPDCL, RTA.
- This is first attempt from any State to get its own online portal for transactions.
- All government departments are being made part of T-Wallet in the first phase.
- The T-Wallet will charge a nominal cost for private transactions and charges will not be applicable for paying electricity bills, water bills, property taxes, RTA challans etc.
- The Telangana Government has tied up with Vijaya Bank to provide the service.
- RBI’s clearance has been obtained by the state government to launch the e-payment facility
Features of T-wallet
- T Wallet can be used through Online Web Browser, Smart Phone, Feature Phone and even No phone.
- Supports three languages Telugu, Urdu and English.
- Aadhaar + Biometric or Aadhaar + OTP to Aadhaar linked mobile number, for feature phone and no phone users are factors for authentication.
- There is no service charge for using T-wallet.
- People with no mobile phone can go to MeeSeva centres for any kind of transaction.
- It has resemblance with the central government app BHIM.
